Gym-quality; very stable

"I looked at the ellipticals at my gym and found they run over $8K (used!) but I wanted a stable one, so I started hunting around and found Smooth Fitness (a name I wasn't familiar with). We were in between the DMT and the DMT X2 but decided to go with the DMT due to stride length. PROS: First - I this piece of equipment is better than the one at the gym for functionality - I can totally modify the stride and can get exactly the length I want (far more flexibility than the gym). Second - There is ZERO rocking like on cheap units at the stores I've tried - this truly is like a piece of gym equipment--solid. Third - I love the hand controls... I never lose my heart rate while adjusting the stride length or intensity. CONS: First - The iPod/iPhone dock didn't fit my phone (because my otter box case was too big)--but I'm sure it'd be find with a smaller case. Second - the ledge is a little narrow for reading, if you put an iPad (something firm) on the ledge it would hold, but a book will fall off (not due to rocking, just not a very big ledge). --------- Overall - outstanding product, very solid, very good quality and we're using it because it's so...well...smooth. Very low impact on my knees (two surgeries) but no problems because it's stable and smooth - great piece of equipment."

Perfect workout solution!

"Buying at smoothfitness gives you an advantage because you will get the best warranty and you will be sure to get the latest version of the agile DMT (newer version has better console). I also went with in-door home delivery and saved me lot of trouble from figuring out how to get the heavy boxes into my house and to exactly where I want it to be. Let the professional do their job. The huge boxes delivered are in excellent condition. Opened and everything is there, no missing hardware or nothing fell off or broken. Assembly is not difficult at all. Just take your time, read the instructions carefully and look at the drawings provided in the manual. Use the supplied hardware page on pg 6 to help you determine which screws/nuts to use exactly at which step. Some people bought it in the past said SmoothFitness provides an installation dvd, I called in Dec 2011 and asked about it and they said they don't carry such dvd. If I have to pick which step is the most difficult, it would have to be popping in the plastic pivot arm covers and the plastic front side panels. I was having problem aligning two of the screw holes for the left front side panel. Yes, it's plastic cover but hey, if the machine runs well, what do you care? Anyway, got my brother to help me and he lifted up one side of the machine a little bit and I aligned the holes and viola. Not sure if it's because I was assembling the Agile DMT on the mat Smoothfitness sent me so the holes wouldn't line up perfectly unless you have someone tilt it up a few millimeters off the ground. Maybe it'll fit better if you assemble on the carpet then roll the fully assembled machine back onto the mat. Machine is very well-built. Quiet operation. Articulating foot pedals. Nice console and easy to use. A lot of reviews have covered that already so I won't repeat here. Cup holder and ipod connection are nice features to have. Although one thing I hope is that one day the built-in fan in this machine can be adjusted to face different angles. Fan is on the left of the console. Tall people will enjoy the fan; shorter people will not and you'll have to lean towards the console on purpose to get some cooler air... Many nice workout programs for people doing just casual cardiovascular exercises or serious trainers that want to challenge their body every single day. As far of maintenance goes, the manual does not mention anything about routine maintenance or care by end users. I guess I would have to call in one day and ask... "

Smooth Sailing, great shape...

"I bought the Smooth Agile DMT elliptical on October 13th, 2011 for my son as a gift. Boy, how he has changed since he's been riding this machine. He lost 2" of waistline and 15lbs and has rock solid abs. I'm impressed and he totally loves his workouts on this machine. Even his mom uses this elliptical for her personal workout as well. When I asked my son how he rates this machine, he gives it a 5 star rating for its ease of use and great stability. He says its a quality machine and well woth the money."

Good purchase

"The 3.5 week delivery time was disappointing. The two delivery men did bring it into the room, which was a very nice extra. Some of the assembly was challenging. A magnetic tip screwdriver would be very useful for a large number of recessed screws. The built in fan and ipod dock work well. Wish the fan had a higher speed. Overall the machine is quiet; but not as quiet as other reviews led me to believe. It is still the quietest piece of equipment I have (hill climber, lifecycle, rower). It is a big piece of equipment and once in place, it's not going anywhere. I briefly considered another room in my house, but there is no way to move it without significant disassembly. Overall a good solid piece of equipment comparable to any gym equipment I've used."
